Primary & Post-Primary School Programmes at the Hunt Museum
The Hunt Museum is committed to providing visitors of all ages with the opportunity to explore the diverse fabric of world cultures as embodied by its collections. The purpose of the Hunt Museum is to exhibit, preserve, document and promote the Hunt Collection in a secure environment, so as to maximise its cultural and educational potential for the people of Ireland and for the International Community. It aims to deliver this commitment by providing unique opportunities for visitors to connect, learn, engage and discover the rich artistic heritage of world cultures as embodied by our collections. They have tried to model a way of learning that is flexible enough to allow students of different ages, interests and abilities to construct meaning from interactions with works of art.
The Hunt Museum strives to accommodate students’ needs to the greatest extent possible. Along with the Limerick Education Centre, we have developed a range of workshops to suit different ages and interests, and we can also offer guided tours of the permanent collection and/or temporary exhibitions (please see attached for a list of upcoming temporary exhibitions). Please let us know what you might be interested in and we will get back to you with some suggestions. School visits cost €2 per student; there is no additional cost for workshops and tours.
