Probationary Teachers
Limerick Education Centre complete the Administration details of probationary teachers on behalf of the Inspectorate of the Department of Education & Skills.
A teacher who is registered or has applied for registration with the Teaching Council and who needs to have his/her professional competence evaluated to satisfy the Council’s probationary requirements, must make an application for inspection using the Form OP1. Applications will only be accepted from teachers who are registered with the Teaching Council and whose only outstanding condition is probation. Applications may only be made electronically and must be made as soon as the teacher commences service in a post which will last for a period of at least 50 consecutive school days and which is recognised for probationary purposes. Every effort is made to ensure that all eligible teachers who make an application for inspection will be inspected in that school year.
Should you wish to contact Limerick Education Centre with any queries, you can contact Jenny Delaney on 061 585060 ext 4 or email at probation@lec.ie.
** Please note: There is no closing date for applications. The Inspectorate will endeavour to complete a visit to all teachers in a position eligible for probation & have the minimum required number of days = 50 consecutive school days. Please submit an application as soon as you are in a position to be probated.
