LEC Assist - Autism for SNAs (repeat from Jan and Feb 2021)
This is a two night course - 14 and 21 April (a repeat of the courses held in January and February 2021)
14 April - The first workshop will cover the diagnostic criteria and presentation of autism, along with some of the difficulties students present with in the school setting, including challenging behaviour, transition issues, communication difficulties, anxiety and some strategies to help students overcome these difficulties. This workshop will end with a discussion session of current difficulties being faced, so that the second night can be tailored to participants needs.
21 April - The second workshop will cover strategies to enable students with autism to reach their full potential in the school setting, including but not limited to: visual supports, behaviour strategies, task analysis and chaining, organisation, time management and anxiety management.
Course fees are non-refundable and non-transferrable.
