SNA Summer School - Autism

Workshop number 1 -  10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Autism and challenging behaviour; understanding behaviour and promoting positive alternatives. 

This workshop will provide an overview of some of the causes of challenging behaviour. Positive behavioural strategies will then be discussed and how to promote this behaviour in the school environment. Communicative, social and environmental strategies will be included, and group discussion and tasks will also be involved. 

 

Workshop number 2 – 12.30 p.m. to 2.30 p.m.

Autism and School. 

This workshop will target specific difficulties encountered in primary and secondary school- including organisational management and anxiety management, and provide strategies to help students cope in these environments. Group tasks and discussion will also be involved.
