Invitation to Teachers to take part in a Workshop on Digital Citizenship –
Find out more about the online world and what to be aware of.
Digital Citizenship is an umbrella term that covers a wide ranging set of competences that are vital for society in the 21st century. It includes digital proficiency, which covers the competence to be able to use digital technologies, digital literacy, which covers the competence to be able to think digitally and finally digital citizenship which incorporates digital proficiency and literacy and also covers respectful behaviour towards yourself and others in the digital space.
Given the Covid-19 pandemic and the changes the resulting restrictions have enforced on so many aspects of our lives, from education and commercial enterprises to leisure activities and how we communicate, there has never been more of a need for members of our society to become more educated in the various aspects of digital citizenship.
TUS & Limerick Education Support Centre invite teachers to this workshop where we will explore Digital Citizenship learning opportunities for teachers, including rights & responsibilities online, digital commerce & internet shopping, copyright & plagiarism and online safety.
