This webinar explores the benefits and liabilities of ChatGPT thus helping practitioners to better consider its use in professional settings.

Our expert panelists will discuss the potential benefits of ChatGPT in education, such as personalized learning experiences, intelligent tutoring systems, and automated grading.

They will also explore the potential liabilities of ChatGPT, such as data privacy concerns, the potential for bias in algorithms, and the possibility of replacing human teachers.

Presenters

J.J. Collins is a lecturer in Software Architecture and Machine Learning in the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems (CSIS) at the University of Limerick. He has twenty years of teaching experience lecturing subjects such as Neural Computing, Deep Learning, and Deep Reinforcement Learning at all levels. He led the design team for the integrated 4-year BSc/MSc Immersive Software Engineering and is Course Director for this intensive accelerated learn-by-doing novel programme with five inbuilt residencies. He brings further pedagogical insights as Course Director for BSc Computer Science (Common Entry) in UL. 

Stephen Kinsella is professor of Economics at the University of Limerick and is an Irish economist, author and journalist. Stephen is a regular commentator on economic and social issues in the media and has published numerous academic articles & several books including “Understanding Ireland’s Economic Crisis: A Primer” and “Ireland in 2050: How We Will Be Living”
