Creative Classrooms, Creative Teachers – Unlocking the Potential of Innovative Methodologies is a Professional Development Programme in Instructional Leadership, developed by Canadian academic, Prof. Barrie Bennett, to enhance learning and teaching repertoires. Instructional Leadership is being implemented in many secondary schools in Ireland and has been described as leading ‘a transformation in teaching and learning’ across the country. Tutors: Sandra Larkin & Linda O’Meara
Linda O’Meara has worked as a primary school teacher in Milford NS in Castletroy, since 2009. She enjoys engaging in continuous professional development and completed the pilot programme for primary school teachers in Instructional Leadership in 2019. Since then, she has incorporated the IL tactics and strategies into her teaching to create a classroom where her 6th class pupils are highly engaged in their own learning. Linda completed the Postgraduate Diploma in School Leadership, in the University of Limerick, in 2018 and the Masters in School Leadership in 2020.
Laois woman Sandra has taught at Milford NS in Castletroy since 2001. In 2019, she completed the pilot programme for Instructional Leadership for primary teachers and uses the methodologies regularly with her third class. She has completed the Post Graduate Diploma in School Leadership and has experience of other learning environments from volunteer work placements in India, the Philippines and Swaziland.

All our summer courses are booked on the condition that the course fee is non-refundable. Course Fees are not transferrable to another teacher. Unfortunately, if you wish to cancel your place on one of our courses or you are unable to attend the course, we are not in a position to refund fees.
In the event that the minimum number of participants required do not apply then the Centre will be obliged to cancel the course, you may be offered a place on another course or given a refund.
