SocialB Workshop for Educators: Tuesday 13th DEC at 7pm
The Erasmus+ Knowledge Alliance project, SocialB aims to stimulate changes in education and training programmes with its innovative, multidisciplinary model of collaboration between education providers, Social Enterprises and Social Enterprise development and support agencies. It is envisaged that the Learning Unit materials and methodologies will form the basis of a common EU-wide approach to education and training in the Social Enterprise field. The Learning Unit materials may be adapted in full or partially and are aimed at real problem-based learning, creative thinking and skills acquisition in the field of social entrepreneurship.
Part of the Department of Rural and Community Development’s policy on Social Enterprise was to raise awareness of Social Enterprise, including among young people. It is recognised that young people are increasingly aware of giving back to society and the environment. Social Enterprise suits this need and SocialB gives the opportunity for students to become familiar with the language and culture around Social Enterprise, to develop knowledge, skills and competencies in the areas such as social impact measurement and communication, social innovation, project management, accessing funding, how to develop a business plan, managing Human Resources, applying for jobs in Social Enterprise area, Good Governance etc
This workshop will share learning, expériences and insights from the SocialB project and allow educators the opportunity to find out how the Learning Units can be created as bespoke training support for students to suit their specific learning needs and enable them to engage with social enterprises.
