SSE & Wellbeing for DEIS Primary Schools

As per circular 56/2022, all schools have to engage in a process of SSE by 2025 using the Wellbeing Policy Statement and Framework for Practice.
With five years of experience supporting schools all over the country in this area, our facilitator, Colm Conlon, will guide you through the process using a comprehensive 'Padlet' of resources. This will act as a 'one stop shop' for all things SSE and Wellbeing.
Having gathered and analysed evidence in the area of Wellbeing Promotion in schools, the next step of the SSE Process is to map your findings onto the Wellbeing Policy Statement and Framework for Practice and, in particular, to the Statements of Effective Practice.
Learning Outcomes:
- To support primary schools in the DEIS sector to map their findings onto the Wellbeing Policy Statement and Framework for Practice and record findings and targets on their DEIS Plan.
- To guide participants on how to analyse gathered evidence and make judgements, focusing on the 4 Key Areas of Wellbeing.
- To guide participants on the implementation and recording of the DEIS Plan.
Facilitator:
Colm Conlon has been supporting schools to engage with Wellbeing Promotion over the last number of years with Oide. Areas of expertise include SSE and Wellbeing, SPHE, Restorative Practices and Anti Bullying Policies and Procedures.
