TY Coordinators - Grant funding for Climate Initiatives

Limerick City and County Council has been selected as the only Irish city to join the prestigious global Youth Climate Action Fund network.

We are launching an open invitation to secondary schools across Limerick to empower the next generation of climate leaders.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Your Transition Year students could receive direct capital funding to design and deploy real climate initiatives within their local community - Up to €4000 micro-grants available per project.

INSPIRATIONAL THEMES

  • Biodiversity & Ecology: Pollinator gardens, urban beekeeping setups, or native seed libraries.
  • Community Food Systems: School allotments, poly-tunnel creations, or food waste reduction initiatives.
  • Circular Economy: School-led localized recycling schemes, repair hubs, or composting setups.
  • Climate Awareness: Grassroots youth-targeted media campaigns and peer-led educational workshops.
